All year long, Stepping Stones Museum for Children offers special programs, performances and activities for visitors to enjoy – from exhibit-themed activities, arts and creative play to storytimes, sing-a-longs, active play and more.

We also offer unique evening events throughout the year. Turn a book into an entertaining night at one of our a Storybook Pajama Parties, dance and dine the night away at our annual Winter Wonderland Children’s Ball, or bring children in for our Holiday Happenings.

ELLI Lab School – Now Enrolling!

Stepping Stones Museum for Children and Literacy How, Inc. are working together to help close the literacy achievement gap and better prepare young children and their families for school. The Early Language and Literacy Initiative (ELLI) Lab School serves children ages 3 – 5.


Early ELLI Series Classes

An 8 week series for children 18 – 36 months

Early ELLI Series

Focused on the language and pre-literacy skills that lay the foundation for later learning, each week children and their parent or caregiver will engage in a multidisciplinary exploration of their world. Classes take place throughout the museum and align with Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards.

Youth Enrichment at Stepping Stones – YES2

The mission of Youth Enrichment at Stepping Stones is to provide meaningful opportunities to students in grades 6 – 12 by developing skills, inspiring leadership and encouraging talents of the youth team. Participation in training, mentorship, events and workshops helps older children gain the tools and confidence to find success in future endeavors and become life long learners. Learn More
