Family and Teacher Resource Center
The Family and Teacher Resource Center is a bright new space overflowing with interactive kits, books, puzzles, multimedia games and apps – everything you need to fully enrich the Stepping Stones experience. Parents, caregivers and teachers have access to the latest information and programs about learning through play, early literacy, 21st century learning skills and the developmental needs of young children, helping them to facilitate a child’s learning – at home or at school.

Teacher Appreciation Events
Stepping Stones Museum for Children presents its annual
Playful Practices in Teaching Award which recognizes playful practices implemented by educators in Connecticut and Westchester County, highlighting the importance of learning through play. Playful environments create a strong foundation for children to learn.
The Stepping Stones Playful Practices in Teaching Award is given to an outstanding educator or educators to acknowledge them for making a difference in young children’s lives. The award honorees will be recognized at the museum’s Teacher Appreciation Event on Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Enjoy wine, cheese and fun as you mix and mingle with fellow teachers within our galleries. Museum educators will showcase the latest exhibits, programming and professional development opportunities.
