Director of External Relations
Stepping Stones is seeking an accomplished Director of External Relations with a history of cultivating, maintaining and leveraging strong relationships within the community. This person will provide strategic direction and be accountable for annual and capital fundraising. The ideal candidate will have proven success influencing and driving desired development outcomes that support the museum's mission. Essential responsibilities include cultivating relationships with major donors, stakeholders and corporations, marketing and community relations initiatives, leadership of a high performance team that consistently meets development goals. Graphic Designer
Stepping Stones is seeking a graphic designer to provide design and production expertise for the marketing department. Design responsibilities include flyers, brochures, newsletters, mailings, advertisements, signage and other marketing materials. Produce graphic designs that reflect the museum’s brand image, mission and values as it relates to a youth oriented, interactive and dynamic educational environment. Oversee inventory of all marketing materials, maintain a database/library of logos, photos, images, etc. Must be able to work independently and within a team-oriented environment. College degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 3 years design experience working in a project-based environment. Proficient in Adobe CS Suite, Word and Powerpoint. Dreamweaver and photography experience a plus.
Promotions Coordinator
Stepping Stones is seeking a coordinator to support the museum’s marketing initiatives by assisting in planning, developing, executing and evaluating marketing collateral, special events and communications programs. Primary responsibilities include coordinating the museum’s presence at various community events, expos and festivals throughout the region in order to raise awareness of the museum and promote visitation. In addition, this individual would also be responsible for trafficking all ads, flyers and collateral, collecting and distributing press clippings, assist in event execution and coordinate the printing and distribution of flyers, postcards and direct mail campaigns. The ideal candidate will have a BA in public relations, marketing, advertising or related field with a minimum of 3 years-related work experience. This position requires excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with the ability to take a project from a creation to production. Must be able to work in a highly team oriented environment, as well as network with professional organizations and community partners. Fluency in Spanish a plus.
Traveling Exhibits Manager
Stepping Stones is seeking self-directed, marketing/sales person to develop and manage the museum’s entry into the traveling exhibits market – outbound sales and inbound rentals. Role entails research, business planning/budgeting, marketing/sales, customer service and exhibit installation support. Ideal candidate has minimum of 3 – 5 years experience in a museum environment and management experience. Must be able to travel and lift up to 30 lbs. Full time with benefits.
Administrative Assistant
Stepping Stones is seeking a full time professional to provide professional administrative support to the Visitor Experience Director and the Director of Education. Responsibilities include general administrative duties, reception and project based work. Requirements include proven ability to consistently project a professional approach and demeanor. Self-starter with exceptional organizational skills, computer skills, telephone etiquette and attention to detail. Ability to multi-task to ensure a smooth office workflow. Minimum 2-3 years experience preferably in an educational or non-profit environment. Transportation required.
Receptionist
Stepping Stones Museum for Children is seeking a full time professional to provide receptionist duties, general administrative duties and project-based work. Requirements include the ability to project a consistent, professional approach and demeanor while responding to internal and external customer requests. Must have good communication skills, oral and written, with strong computer skills – proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook. Must be a team player who enjoys multi-tasking and is able to use good judgment and maintain a consistent, reliable work ethic. Minimum Associate business degree preferred with two years prior experience in a reception/administrative support role, preferably for a non-profit organization. Welcome Desk “Lead” Part time
Stepping Stones is seeking a team player with strong communication and customer service skills to greet visitors at our Welcome Desk and process memberships and group admissions. Sound retail knowledge and cash handling operations and procedures required. Strong sales skills and a willingness to be assertive in promoting museum membership, programs and special events. Excellent customer service skills including an ability to work in a culturally diverse environment. Computer literacy with proficiency in Windows based applications. Self-reliance and the ability to quickly predict or analyze and respond to customer service issues. Flexible part-time morning, afternoon and weekend schedules up to 20 hours per week. High school diploma and minimum of two years prior work experience preferably in a child-oriented environment required.
Visitor Experience
Stepping Stones is seeking a team player with strong communication and customer service skills to work in our award-winning galleries. Facilitate interactive learning through programs and gallery activities. Flexible part time morning, afternoon and weekend schedule up to 20 hours per week. Degree in early childhood or elementary education preferred. Requires a minimum of two years prior customer service experience in a child oriented environment.

Grant Writer
Stepping Stones is seeking a persuasive, dynamic writer with ability to research, analyze and articulate programs and services.
Assist the Grants Manager in preparation of grant proposals. Must have demonstrated communication skills
including writing, editing and proofreading with attention to detail and accuracy. Must be deadline oriented,
able to multi-task and have strong organizational skills. Familiarity with concepts, practices and procedures
in the proposal and grant-application process a plus.
