Stepping Stones is actively recruiting people of all ages who want to share their talents to enhance educational opportunities for children in our community. Volunteers are an integral part of Stepping Stones whether they are helping visitors learn about the arts, sciences, culture and heritage or working behind the scenes to inspire strategic direction and successful special events. All volunteers play an essential role in the daily life of the museum. The generous contributions and diverse personal and professional backgrounds of the volunteer team enrich the visitor experience. They allow Stepping Stones to continually expand a full range of quality educational programming and go above and beyond the expectations of our 213,000 annual visitors.
At a glance, Stepping Stones volunteers:
- Demonstrate creativity, enthusiasm and leadership potential

- Are 11 - 89 years old
- Contribute 5-10 hours each month
- Receive a required orientation and specific job training
Each volunteer at Stepping Stones Museum for Children receives:
- Hands-on experience in a fun, creative and dynamic museum environment
- Reference and letter of recommendation based on performance

- Lunch discount at the cafe
- Free admission for up to four guests each day
