Stepping Stones Museum for Children programming plays an integral role in enriching the museum experience for our young visitors. Gallery Programming offers an intimate, focused learning experience. By hosting engaging activities and special guests within the specific gallery areas, children are given the chance to dive deeper into the themes and topics presented in the exhibits.

Art Smarts

Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday/Sunday • 3:00 – 4:00 pm

Calling all artists of all ages! Express yourself with a wide variety of artistic materials and methods including paint, sculpture, printing and collage. Artists will explore shapes, colors, forms and patterns while learning about different modes of creative expression. Join us for a new art project every week.

Discovery Station

Monday/Wednesday/Friday • 10:30 – 11:00 am and 12:30 – 1:00 pm ; Saturday/Sunday • 10:30 – 11:00 am, 11:30 am – 12:00 pm and 12:30 – 1:00 pm

Take a deeper dive into learning with fun and engaging STEAM discoveries driven by our exhibit galleries and seasonal experiences. Explorers will use their investigation skills to gain a new outlook on the world around them. There are new discoveries to be made every week.

Discovery Station: Edible Garden

We are growing a garden at Stepping Stones! Join us in our Edible Garden and explore the ins and outs of cultivation. If the weather is less than desirable for gardening, the program can be found in the Hub. SEASONAL PROGRAM

Get your blood pumping and your body moving! Join us on a fun fitness adventure to help keep your body energized and healthy.

Music Makers

Tuesday/Thursday • 9:30 – 10:00 am and 2:30 – 3:00 pm

Pick up an instrument and strike up the band with musical explorations that make you groove, move and sing.

Mutt-i-grees®

Wednesday/Saturday • 1:00 – 2:00 pm

Meet the friendly dog assisting in a unique story time that helps children build social-emotional skills and become caring, calm and confident citizens.

Puppet Place

Wednesday/Friday • 3:00 – 4:00 pm

Work together to create unique puppets and explore how to bring them to life. You will be introduced to the world of puppetry and create your own puppets to put on a show at home with friends and family.

Turn the Page

Monday – Friday • 11:30 am – noon

Take part in an interactive read-aloud of a story specifically curated to increase your child’s understanding of the museum’s featured themes and seasonal celebrations.

We have an array of museum-wide events, special guests, educational activities, and topical explorations that stretch beyond the exhibits.
